Witness is a multimedia piece from Georges Aperghis, the most sought after composer of modern music today, with texts from Robert Walser and seven hand puppets from Paul Klee, puppeteer and voice, bass clarinet, saxophone, accordion, cymbal, piano and live video. The piece is a collaboration of the Bern college of art with the West German radio service and the theater of Bern. The piece “Witness” was first performed in April 2007 for the Witten chamber of modern music. Following this was a guest performance at the acclaimed “Warsaw Autumn” festival and the biannual film festival in venice.
