Newspaper articles and oi

This piece of work focuses on personal failure and the necessary coping mechanisms that come from this situation. Psychological anchors like spirituality, belief, and religion as well as twists of fate, corrupted values and politicised stories then find their way into art. We worked a lot with the space provided in the gallery for this art installation. The piece of art is visible from outside. This means that it engages the outside public more than the people inside the gallery. The topic of our work links politics and religion. For this project we limited

The figures and shapes are chosen from everyday newspaper articles, for example, a soldiers face is from an advertisement for poultry products. The eyes are from Obama and the mouth is from Gaddafi. During the daytime the installation seems modern and cold. During the night, however, the internal lighting through the window creates a spiritual atmosphere.
